From: bakhtiari.reza on 23 Jan 2008 07:15 Hi, I have FC5 and I'd like to upgrade. I have downloaded the FC8 and made a DVD. When I reboot my laptop to start installation, it cannot recognize the FC8 DVD and fails to start with that so in contiunes with the old OS that I had. What' s wrong? is it related to FC8 or my computer? Reza

Actually it doesnt give any message. It says just ''boot from optical drive...'' (as it's supposed) and then after few seconds goes to the original dual boot manager which I could choos between Windows or Linux. so in somehow, it simply ignors DVD !

I think it might related to type of processor, i.e I had to get the x86 instead of the other one because I have acer with Centrino. I did this and I hoped it goes through smoothly but unfortunately the same again !! any other idea?
