iTunes 4.8.031, running on XP
Not sure what version of firmware on ipod

Suddenly, I can't see iPod from iTunes anymore. I tried resetting the
ipod by holding menu and play/pause together, but nothing happens. Also
tried toggling hold button before doing this, and still nothing.

Edit->Preferences->iPod shows "no ipod connected"

What can I try next? Maybe force a firmware update? If so, how?

thanks.

problem solved.

Most places I found on internet said to reset ipod by holding Menu and
Play/Pause. But mine resets by holding Menu and Select (center key).
It's a 20 gig unit.

After a reset, it's showing up again.
