From: SQL Programmer on 2 Jul 2008 16:02 Hello: The Initialization button in Report Configuration Manager is grayed out, and we cannot login to Reporting Services through the SQL 2005 Studio. Upon trying to do so, we get a very lengthy very crypt error message mentioning ROBOTS = to this or that and a lot of other language that probably only a Star Wars robot could in fact interpret. LOL!!! TCP/IP is on, I'm an administrator, I'm logging in with the right credentials, yadda, yadda, etc, etc. Is reinstalling the only option at this point? IIS and SQL are on two separate boxes. So, if I choose to remove SQL from the IIS box, it's not going to have an effect on SQL on the SQL box is it? SQL Programmer (it's just a name)
From: Bruce L-C [MVP] on 2 Jul 2008 17:07 What machine are you point the Report Configuration Manager? The one with the SQL Server databases or the one with RS installed on it. Whichever one you are doing try the other one (both are on the same server for me). -- Bruce Loehle-Conger MVP SQL Server Reporting Services "SQL Programmer" <SQLProgrammer(a)discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:74D5FAC2-4DAA-40F6-872F-E759B6AA401A(a)microsoft.com... > Hello: > > The Initialization button in Report Configuration Manager is grayed out, > and > we cannot login to Reporting Services through the SQL 2005 Studio. From: childofthe1980s on 8 Jul 2008 11:26 No, that did not work either. "Bruce L-C [MVP]" wrote: > What machine are you point the Report Configuration Manager? From: Bruce L-C [MVP] on 8 Jul 2008 11:52 You say you are an adminstrator. What are you an administrator on? Are you an adminstrator on the SQL Server database? It is not enough to be an administrator on the box running RS. You need admin rights on SQL Server database. -- Bruce Loehle-Conger MVP SQL Server Reporting Services "childofthe1980s" <childofthe1980s(a)discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:A428CEAE-433F-46E5-AB76-A1C9D01B97C7(a)microsoft.com... > No, that did not work either. > > "Bruce L-C [MVP]" wrote: > >> What machine are you point the Report Configuration Manager?
