From: emekadavid on 23 Jun 2008 13:30 am connecting my cellphone as modem for winxp and queried the phone but got a response that the phone is not interacting to the pc's sent message. i believe the cable from pc to phone is okay. one thing for sure, i don't know the initialization command for the configuration. can anyone provide me with one? could there be any issues? i used 9600 bps for max speed. could this also be the problem? thanks

Could be lots of issues depending on the phone. You used to be abel to use any phone at 9600 without having to pay for a data connection. That went away with analog cell service. At least on my phone anyway, there is only one way to get cell data, and that is through a plan or costly per mb charges. It doesn't work like a modem either, you connect directly to the phone network for internet, rather than dialing your isp.
