I am trying to create an infopath form and link to an access database. I have
already created the tables in access and none of the fields have the "long"
data type. When I try to create the connection it says "unable to submit
form b/c one or more fields in the table have a data type of long. What
should I do?

Try changing all the number fields to Doubles. Byte or Integer could be
causing the problem. You might also get the same error if you are attempting
to add data to an autonumber field.
