I'm wondering if there's a way to change the background color of the area behind the stage. On my monitor, it's a little hard to tell the difference between the white and light gray. Thanks.

right click on the stage and choose document properties. there is a background color option in the menu that pops up

Got that, but I'm trying to change the color of the surrounding area, not of the stage itself.
