In the middle of the night, the motherboard speaker began to chirp about
every 60 seconds. The machine had been off for about 6 hours. I disconnected
my PC speakers and turned off the switch on the back of the pc, but it
continued to chirp every 60 seconds until I pulled the speaker connection
off the board. This is an Asus P4C800-E- Deluxe, and there is nothing in the
book regarding any chirp. I reconnected it in the morning and it wouldn't
chirp. I did replace the CMOS battery thinking it could be a low batt
warning, but I haven't been able to find out anything definitive. Any help
appreciated

Did you leave a cell phone or other wireless device in proximity of the
speakers?
That will cause the same thing.

Actually I did. My cell sits next to my desktop every night. It's never done
that before. Is it just a random thing or is there a specific thing going on
in the phone at the time?

My PC speakers make a noise just before there's an incoming call on my moby so
it must have something to do with the connection bveing established.

Mine do too, but this is not the PC speakers, it's the internal speaker for
the post beeps, and the chirp was continuous at 60 second intervals, and the
phone was off
