I set my slackware box clock to UTC, i would like to know how should i
do now to set it to take into account DST?

i googled about that and haven't found very useful stuff.

UTC does not switch to DST.
Run (as root) /usr/sbin/timeconfig and select your local time zone.

yes i know, i was talking about the software correction to show local
time.

that's what i did to set my system clock to utc.
by the way i set the timezone.
/etc/timezone contains the right info.

What version of Slackware do you have? If it's older, have you updated
the timezone files recently? If you haven't you won't have the recent
DST changes made in the US. (IIRC some other countries made changes to
their version of DST recently as well.)
