From: lewdslewrate on 20 Apr 2008 11:50 Confused signals. Set-up: Yamaha 01v, La-24 amplifier set to stereo, 2 core speaker cable/speakon connectors, non-descript Full range Soundhouse speakers (450w, 8ohm, passive cross-over). I send signal to Aux 1 on mixer, Ok. I mute aux 1 and send to Aux 2, signal heard at both speakers. Sometimes, Aux I1 plays up and sound appears at both speakers. I swapped Aux1-2 for 3-4. Aux 3 ok, Aux 4 gives sound at both speakers. If one speaker is disconnected when both are giving audio from one aux send, BOTH speakers go silent. After pushing and pulling cables etc, the problem clears for a while and all is as it should be is there a rational explanation? Nothing is linked at the mixer or amp intentionally.

"lewdslewrate" " If one speaker is disconnected when both are giving audio from one aux send, BOTH speakers go silent. " ** Only one thing causes that - a fault in the power amplifier. The common ground connection for the speakons is lose and intermittent INSIDE the LA24 amp. When it disconnects, your two speaker are wired in series ( and out of phase) so disconnecting one of them stops all sound. ..... Phil |
