Given the description of the venue he just gave me , I KNOW it would be a near miracle to get anything decent sounding in there. Painted cinder block. Puh-leeze. I know a very similar building. To say it's a challenge is a vast understatement. Graham

Been there done that. AAPLS got worse. > I know not how well you do live sound, > only how well you post about it. Well that actually shows a little insight. > Too bad you have posted no links to pictures > to save the thousands of words you've written. Pictures of responses to Phildo flaming me doesn't seem to make a lot of sense. > I'm not venting, just checking the many posts > you've made in this group. I would think that the overwhelming number of posts I've made to AAPLS are related to Phildo flaming me. He is so wound up that I could post that water was wet and he would say I'm wrong just to be nasty. But when I don't post to AAPLS, Phildo spends part of his time flaming other people, and part of the time flaming me in my absence, and very little time talking about live sound.

Too bad you are such a humorless wretch, Phildo. Some of the recent "errors", like my post that microphones include the effects of filters, just show how ignorant some people are about the basics of audio. A lot of the so-called errors are at the worst disagreements about the best way to do things, or vast exaggerations by you of what I said. The bottom line Phildo is that several times a week I mix a medium-complex live sound system in a very difficult room, and a pretty good time is had by all. And that is all that really matters to me. But Phildo I do have fun baiting you, and getting more and more people to put you in their killfiles. Remember, AAPLS is your life, but I have those other 2 dozen or so groups to post in, where things are just fine.

Painted cinder block is so bad that we've even had to do extensive acoustical treatment of some of the larger classrooms, and that was *after* they were carpeted.

Too bad you are such a humorless wretch, Phildo. No Arny, again you lie. There have been all number of horriffic errors on your part. > Some of the recent "errors", like my post that microphones include the > effects of filters, just show how ignorant some people are about the > basics of audio. How about "you should ring out your monitors using a CD"? Mayvbe the classic "95% of mixing desks do not have PFL"? I could go on for weeks but I only have a 30 minute break right now. > A lot of the so-called errors are at the worst disagreements about the > best way to do things, or vast exaggerations by you of what I said. The only person who is falling for that one is you Arny. > The bottom line Phildo is that several times a week I mix a medium-complex > live sound system in a very difficult room, and a pretty good time is had > by all. AAPLS is hardly my life but then you do so love to make shut up and parade it as fact. People are laughing at you Arny. Phildo |
