From: _m_i_r_e_k_b_usun_podkreslenia on 11 Apr 2008 06:21 Hello! I have a Debian 3.1, kernel 2.4.36, with ATA133-Raid controller on board: RAID bus controller: Promise Technology, Inc. PDC20276 (MBFastTrak133 Lite) (rev 01) There are 2 HDDs connected to this controller in RAID 1 (mirror) configuration. They are visible as /dev/ataraid... /dev/ataraid/d0p1 on / type ext3 (rw,errors=remount-ro) itd. Everything works fine, execpt this, that both disks are on the same channel, one master, one slave. I would like to switch one to another channel to improve performance. (Of course I mean second channel on Promise RAID controller). Can I just power off computer and move one HDD to another channel? Will it work withour any array rebuilding, adn data loss? Mirek -- email: http://tiny.pl/63
