My problem is : GetStora= ge, name: "No Content! Known Issue: "OOo 1.1.x crashes with error "GetStorage, name: "No Content!= "=20 (may affect other versions) RE: Issue # 23220, & #s 31080, 37510, & 37304 all "marked as a duplicate of= this issue." Reccommend this solution be stored in archive. (I'm not aware of wiki-type option to add solutions to Knowledge Base.) Situation: After computer crash (w/ OOo docs open) OOo no longer functions. At program open (2clicking icon to open) this error dialog opens: " _______________________________________________________________ |OpenOffice.org 1.1.4 = |__| |X| | | = | |(X) cannot be started due to an error in processing the configuration dat= a. | | = | | Please contact your system adminstrator. = | | = | | The following internal error has occurred: GetStorage, name: "No Conte= nt! | | _________ = | | |__OK___|| = | ________________________________________________________________|" Several hours later, solution discovered to be multi-faceted. OpenOffice.org May suffer from file corruption (due to crash, improper shutdown, etc.), particularly in the preferences and settings files, especially "Common.xcu= .." Result is OOo is a 'non-starter,' & program wil not start & run. Many forum responses indicate that renaming "Common.xcu" will fix OOo 'non-start' situation, however, many forum replies state that the prob= lem is not always resolved by renaming fix. Some forum answers suggest that deleting certain program files, & folders, will resolve this issue. My experience indicates that deleting the correct program folder path AND then performing a "Repair Install" removes corrupt files & program is actually repaired. Resolution: Navigate to OpenOffice.org entry in "C:\Program Files." Under OpenOffice.org, open "C:\Program Files\OpenOffice.org1.1.4\SHARE" f= older. Delete the "C:\Program Files\OpenOffice.org1.1.4\SHARE\registry" folder &= all contents. Also under OpenOffice.org, open "C:\Program Files\OpenOffice.org1.1.4\USE= R" folder. Delet the "C:\Program Files\OpenOffice.org1.1.4\USER\registry" folder & a= ll contents. Reinstall OpenOffice.org, using "Repair" mode. This occurred w/ following parameters: platform =3D PC OS =3D Windows 2000 PE, w/ SP4 & Rollup installed version =3D OOo 1.1.4 Reccommend this solution be stored in archive.
