From: coepilot on 22 Sep 2005 23:08 I get an error 1500 when I try to access any Office product (Word, Excel, etc.). I am using XP. I go to MS site to try and install the MS Office 2000 SR-1a which I was told has the fix and obviously since I can't reinstall Office, I can install the update or anything for that matter. All the fixes I see on the internet are so technical I would have to be a programmer to get the job done.
From: JoAnn Paules [MSFT MVP] on 22 Sep 2005 23:31 Why can't you do install the patch? -- JoAnn Paules MVP Microsoft [Publisher] "coepilot" <coepilot(a)discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:DB908F64-AF63-4D05-9DED-540B11CEACDD(a)microsoft.com... >I get an error 1500 when I try to access any Office product (Word, Excel, > etc.). From: coepilot on 23 Sep 2005 01:25 When I try to install the patch, for some reason it is rejected as if I am trying to install another program. At one time it ask for me to load the CD Front Page...so I do and then it terminates the process....I tried three times and the same thing...It has been a few weeks so I would have to go through the entire process and document the exact chain of events...if you think it will help...I will do it again and post exactly what happens...the point is this should not be as difficult to repair as it is...or at least that is my feeling. I can't use any of my Office products...I can't even load a new Office on my machine unless I reformat or something drastic. I am hoping to find someone who can help. I have read numerous post and comments on this problem and it looks like no one has an answer...makes no sense....any ideas would be appreciated...at least I have a couple of other machines that keep me from being completely out of business.
