I dont think that copiying the modules from Microsoft is a good idea at =
=

all. Since we inthe open source community have all this programs the nee=
d =

to yet repeat all this is totally consider a waste of resources.
- Project manager =3D Planner or Gantt Project
- Mail Client - Mozilla Thunderbird
- FlowChart Project - Kivio and Dia
- Publisher Program - Scribus
- Frontpage - Quanta Plus, NVU

I am not sure why you want a webbase program like frontpage. Last I =

remember Frontpage is a desktop program and having a program run on your=
=

browser seem a bit odd as a component for a desktop that all of its =

components run on the desktop. OpenOffice.org on the other side has an =

html editor but there are many others like Quanta Plus, NVU etc.

Having said this I think there might be a good way to improve the suppor=
t =

between this programs so to be better integrated under the OpenDocument =
=

format. So Importing or exporting Flowcharting between Draw and Kivio/Di=
a =

might be a good idea, we have already something similar between Scribus =
=

and OpenOffice.org Draw. As far as mailclients we have already been =

listening to a viewer for the mozilla firefox which might be easy to por=
t =

to thunderbird this will allow t read your OpenDocuments straight from t=
he =

Thunderbird Mail viewer which sounds like a very good idea.

Wow, you posted this to almost every OOo list that there is. What a
quick way to make enemies.

I for one don't want all of these integrated into one suite. I would
rather have great programs that do a great job than programs that do
half a job and create other major headaches.

I have created flow charts in Draw but I prefer Dia.

I have created basic HTML pages in OOo but I prefer Quanta+ as it is
much more powerful than Frontpage.

What can I say about email. Thunderbird is great. Calender plugin
works, even with our Windows calender program.

Check the archives for the various reasons to not add these features.

I learn something new every time I view this group - thanks!
My FrameMaker & PageMaker programs are getting a little long in the
tooth & neither work on Linux.

Gents and Madame,

for the balance:

Openoffice is fantastic, and I would like:

existing features to be developed to professional quality, instead
of having 100 more features that do half the job each.

I usally use and recomend Draw for publishin specially when is quick
related things. Draw has layers and also has easy and fast way to do some
of the more basic things for publishing. However OOo had some issues wiht
color and size which are critical for more profesional publishing here is
where Scribus come and the great thing is that Scribus will import your
OpenOffice.org Draw file.
