From: Kevin R on 5 Apr 2008 14:22 I would like to update my bios for the a7n8x but my floppy is not working at the moment. Is there an alternative to using the floppy for my mobo in regards to updating the bios? All im trying to do is add a third strip of 1 gig memory to my board, and for some reason my mobo won't accept it. regards Kevin

I used Nero Burning to make bootable CD from the floppy. I also added menu to boot with ulrta DMA drivers too. Using Hiren's Boots CD is much easier. This may help: http://www.bootdisk.com/ntfs.htm http://www.hiren.info/pages/bootcd http://thepiratebay.org/tor/4105716/Hiren_s_BootCD_9.5 Usually you just burn the .ISO image to CD and boot assuming it was a bootable image to start with. You have to set boot order with CD before hard drive in BIOS setting. Some motherboards you can press F8 at boot too.

Solved the boot problem. I was able to find an old floppy then went out and bought another ribbon cable... Successfully flashed the bios to the newest which is 1013 for my a7n8x e However I was not able to get my computer to accept the memory module after all the effort. I thought that the a7n8x was able to support 3 gigs of ram? thank you Kevin "Kent_Diego" <None(a)no.way> wrote in message news:U6VJj.104661$Ft5.95865(a)newsfe15.lga... >> ... >> all I have is the file called AWDFLASH.exe >> I need a bios.bin file also? >> > > What (newer?)
