hey, any of y'all thinkin' fellers know of a program like garageband
for windows XP? the main functions we're looking for are all the cheesy
pre-recorded samples & loops & stuff. the goal is to be able to easily
and conveniently create generic TV commercial type background music for
a non-profit organization.

You might look at Sony's Acid, which even comes in scaled down versions you
can purchase at Best Buy for under $100.00, with some loops included.

I'd say Cakewalk's Project 5 is quite Garagebandish. Furthermore, it
does exactly what you're looking for - fast composition of quickie
muzik. Version 2 is a bit pricey ($250 or so) but I bet you can find a
deal on v1.0 somewhere.
