From: mainmachine on 29 Dec 2005 02:57 hey, any of y'all thinkin' fellers know of a program like garageband for windows XP? the main functions we're looking for are all the cheesy pre-recorded samples & loops & stuff. the goal is to be able to easily and conveniently create generic TV commercial type background music for a non-profit organization. TIA -daver
From: Malachi on 29 Dec 2005 14:03 You might look at Sony's Acid, which even comes in scaled down versions you can purchase at Best Buy for under $100.00, with some loops included. malachi "mainmachine" <mainmachine(a)choiceonemail.com> wrote in message news:1135843078.817111.33680(a)g43g2000cwa.googlegroups.com... > hey, any of y'all thinkin' fellers know of a program like garageband > for windows XP? the main functions we're looking for are all the cheesy > pre-recorded samples & loops & stuff. the goal is to be able to easily > and conveniently create generic TV commercial type background music for > a non-profit organization. > > TIA > -daver >

I'd say Cakewalk's Project 5 is quite Garagebandish. Furthermore, it does exactly what you're looking for - fast composition of quickie muzik. Version 2 is a bit pricey ($250 or so) but I bet you can find a deal on v1.0 somewhere. - TR
