From: Dylan on 3 Jan 2006 17:35 I need some serious help! Last year on my oldish PC (AMD 1300, 500MB RAM) I recorded some songs with my sonar 3 & Maudio Audiophile card. I loved it.. recorded up to 50 audio tracks on one song. Great A few months ago I buy a Delta 1010 so I can record 8 tracks at once. Make my live band stuff sound better. After recording 9 or 10 tracks I get lots of clicks. Even my playback of single audio tracks starts clicking every now and again Try the usual, new drivers, latency set to three years (Joke) still the same. So I bought a new PC just for audio recording. AMD64 3200+, 1 gig RAM, 400GB sata RAID 0 disk array. I even splashed out on Sonar 5 and XP. Guess what? Apart from being ?1000 in debt I still get to listen to Rhythmic gargelling after 8 tracks. Now, I'm the first to admit that I'm very slow when it comes to computers.. the tech stuff can leave me stumped. So I'll record all my settings and see if anyone can spot something obvious or help out in any way. I feel it's the 1010that's letting me down as I was fine before I bought it. Any advice? AUDIO OPTIONS Timing masters are both set to Delta 1010 Audio Driver bit depth: 16 Sample rate 44100 Buffers in playback queue: 2 Buffer size 34.8msec ADVANCED Enable read and write caching 128kb WDM/KS driver Pow-r 3 Dithering Full chase lock Delta 1010 Control Panel Master clock Internal Xtal Multi-track driver devices : Single and in-sync DMA Buffer Size Latency 256 samples I think that's all Please Please help.. I know you guys get a latency question every other day, but I think I've tried almost anything Thanks a million Dylan

Well, that is part of your problem. XP :-) More imporantly, which Delta driver are you using. A lot of us never upgraded to the latest and greatest because of latency problems. -- Pat
From: Dylan on 3 Jan 2006 20:36 Thanks a lot I shall try old drivers and let you know if it does the trick Fingers crossed!! hehe Dylan "mindseye" <no(a)spam.com> wrote in message news:Xns974179083F1biteme(a)213.155.197.138... > "Dylan" <dylan(a)rattlebox.plus.com> wrote in news:43bafb5c$0 > $2712$ed2619ec(a)ptn-nntp-reader02.plus.net: > > > Try the usual, new drivers, > > Have you tried older drivers? I don't have Sonar in front of me, but if memory serves, "Enable read and write caching" shouldn't be checked on newer computers. Is that checked? Is anything else hooked up to the computer digitally (thru s/pdif, adat, tdif or other)? If other devices would be trying to be master word clock also, that could cause pops & cracks in your system. What's your buffer size setting in the Audio Options / Advanced tab of Sonar? Is it set to 256 samples (as it is in your Delta control panel)? I may be off on this, but i think it's supposed to be. greg "Dylan" <dylan(a)rattlebox.plus.com> wrote in message news:43bafb5c$0$2712$ed2619ec(a)ptn-nntp-reader02.plus.net... >I need some serious help! > > Last year on my oldish PC (AMD 1300, 500MB RAM) I recorded some songs with > my sonar 3 & Maudio Audiophile card.
