Ah.... some versions of the installer contain a minor defect which
is easy to correct.

Instructions for the proper setting in WinXP:

1) Start Menu > Settings > Control Panel
2) Double-click 'System' icon
3) Select the 'Advanced' tab
4) Click the 'Environmental Variables' button

In the lower-half, scroll down to and select the 'path' setting then
click the 'Edit' button. Make sure that it says "C:\hla" instead of
"C:\hla\hla" for the last entry.

ok people, I have another issue with the hla install on my laptop.
this laptop use vista ultima os, but from what i have got so far it
looks like it will run it's just that i do not know to make it give in

Don't use HLA, use an assembler. There are plenty assemblers
available so there is really no reason to use HLA. If you
want to use a HL language instead of an assembler, use C
and not HLA.
