From: bestofcomputer on 3 Sep 2005 08:14 I want to use outlook express to get and send my mails that are managed by a webmail account that has dedicated servers for pop3 and smtp. But I receive the following error : Is it because I use CCPROXY 6.2 on the main system, and I try to get my mails on another PC through my proxy on the main PC of my LAN ? How to correct this ? Or is it coming from the servers of my webmail service ? How to correct this ? Or is it coming from my ISP ? NB : the problem is the same if I shutdown zone alarm pro 6.0 on all the systems, so it is from that... Error message : The host 'pop.rediffmailpro.com' could not be found. Please verify that you have entered the server name correctly. Account: 'MY ACCOUNT', Server: 'pop.rediffmailpro.com', Protocol: POP3, Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No, Socket Error: 11001, Error Number: 0x800CCC0D

Is this a paid account? "Please tell me how to set up Outlook express for my free Rediffmail account. This feature is not available with the free version of Rediffmail." You should not have any problem picking mail up on any machine on the LAN. -- Kath Adams MS MVP - Windows (IE/OE)
From: bestofcomputer on 4 Sep 2005 04:43 I now have set up my main PC (where I share Internet with a proxy soft), and my mails can be received and sent there ! So there must be an issue with my proxy settings of my proxy soft. My proxy is youngzsoft CCPROXY 6.2. Do you know some issues with proxy settings, or this soft ? Thanks "Kath Adams" wrote: > bestofcomputer wrote: > > I want to use outlook express to get and send my mails that are > > managed by a webmail account that has dedicated servers for pop3 and > > smtp. > > But I receive the following error : > > Is it because I use CCPROXY 6.2 on the main system, and I try to get > > my mails on another PC through my proxy on the main PC of my LAN ? > > How to correct this ? > > Or is it coming from the servers of my webmail service ? > > How to correct this ? > > Or is it coming from my ISP ? > > NB : the problem is the same if I shutdown zone alarm pro 6.0 on all > > the systems, so it is from that... > > > > Error message : > > > > The host 'pop.rediffmailpro.com' could not be found. From: Jim Pickering on 4 Sep 2005 10:21 CCPROXY is part of Symantec's Security Suite. Most users in these newsgroups report problems using Symantec's products that include loss of stored messages. I'd disable the complete Suite of Symantec products and then test if the problem goes away. If it does, then contact Symantec for assistance since the problem is not with Outlook Express but with their product. http://www.processlibrary.com/directory/files/ccproxy/ -- Jim Pickering, MVP, Outlook Express https://mvp.support.microsoft.com/profile=F9F51EF1-4AE3-4D23-B2D8-1171988A62D6 Please deliver feedback to the newsgroup, so that others can be helped.
