Seagate says to dismount before POF using the dismount icon. I do not have
a dismount icon. How do I dismount it using control panel?
Thank you,

If it's USB you should be able to right click on the icon and "eject"

USB drives should have caused an icon (with green arrow) to appear near the
clock.
Clicking on that should give you a list of the CURRENTLY attached REMOVABLE
(USB mice and Kybds are not in this class) devices .

You may have more than one device on the list, choose carefully.

You man not have the drive in use in any way, includes a folder on the drive
open in explorer.

The other way is to right click on the drive in My Computer and select Eject.
