From: Jake Parry on 20 Jan 2006 04:02 iPhoto says it is "missing system files and cannot open", and I have to reinstall it from the iLife CD. It actually came with my OS X disk, so I reinstalled it from that, but it still comes up with the same error message. Any suggestions please? Having reinstalled the OS only a week ago, I'm reluctant to do it again if it's not necessary. This happened shortly after I installed Macaroni, in case it's relevant. I'm running 10.3.9. -- Jake Parry remove teeth to reply by email

Is Macaroni set to remove the language files? It could be that iPhoto is looking for a file that this might have removed. -- Andy Hewitt ** FAF#1, (Ex-OSOS#5) - FJ1200 ABS Windows free zone (Mac G5 Dual Processor) <http://andyhewitt.webhop.net/> (updated Jan 2006)

I kind of assumed that the files removed would not be essential to the working of any program. -- Jake Parry remove teeth to reply by email

I didn't think iPhoto was one, but it has to be a starting point. I use Macaroni myself, but I leave the language files alone. ISTR that I had an app that wouldn't work too. -- Andy Hewitt ** FAF#1, (Ex-OSOS#5) - FJ1200 ABS Windows free zone (Mac G5 Dual Processor) <http://andyhewitt.webhop.net/> (updated Jan 2006)

I've now reinstalled OS X and installed the latest update of iPhoto, but I'm still getting the same error message when I try to start iPhoto! Now reinstalling again, but I'll try doing without the update this time.
