My iPod photo keeps locking up. Done all the things Apple website
suggest but nothing works until the battery runs flat and I connect it
to my Mac again. I hope it's purely coincidental but the trouble started
after I up graded the iPod software using Software Update and discovered
podcasts.

Any suggestions welcome.
Many thanks

A stab in the dark here, but you could try downloading an older iPod updater
from somewhere (dunno where - apple.com/support or perhaps the CD that came
with the iPod might have *a* version?) and restore it to the iPod?

Thanks Steve.. but I may have solved it. Once it had powered down, I
noticed that the problem was with podcasts. I then narrowed it down to
one particular one (Inside Mac Radio 7/7) which - I assume - may have
become corrupted somehow during download? Anyway. I've deleted it and
all seems well again.

Old ones should be in /Applications/Utilities somewhere?

Not sure, I'm not on the usual so I can't check.
