I have several large files - 10 Gigs plus- on several
machines/partitions that I'd like to add to my existing iTunes on my new
iMac (24" 2.8 Ghz, 500 G) but without having to go through and remove
duplicate files. There will be many such, as I guess that over 80% of
the old files will already be in the existing file.

If there were a solid and easy to use file duplicate identifier, that'd
be one way, but I'd need a recommendation as they all sound good, but
the ones I tried aren't terribly clear on how to set up.

If there were a way to remove all folders so that dropping the mp3 files
together would automatically cut out dups, that would probably work, but
I don't know how- or if - I can remove the folder structure in iTunes
other than manually.

Been using it since SoundJam, but a lot I dunno.....

If the duplicate files have the same names ie. it's not the same movie
with different file names, then when you add the files to your iTunes
library you should only end up with 1 file if you have 'Keep iTunes
Music Folder Organised' & 'Copy Files to iTunes Music folder when
adding to library' checked in the preferences.
