I have a 1 GB Lexar jumpdrive and didn't know you could have passwords
on it. How do you do that?

No matter what happens someone will find a way to take it too seriously.

Your password is : "reformat"

You can supposedly chat live with a support person @
http://www.lexar.com/support/

What software is securing it? If it came with the jumpdrive
or from Lexar, you might try toggling one (or both) of the
following registry keys so they read as follows (if these
keys exist, if they don't, it shouldn't hurt to add them to
your registry... if it changes the method of access in an
unsatisfactory way, simply change them back (or delete if
they didnt' exist):

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\LexarMedia\JDSecure\Encrypt]
"PromptPassword"=dword:00000000
"DontAskMe"=dword:00000001

Then copy off the files if this gains access (on your
original-installed system while logged in as admin).
