From: Robert P. J. Day on 18 Jun 2010 17:30 when one tries to build a simple module against a "make distclean"ed source tree, one gets: ERROR: Kernel configuration is invalid. include/generated/autoconf.h or include/config/auto.conf are missing. Run 'make oldconfig && make prepare' on kernel src to fix it. that diagnostic seems inaccurate in two ways. first, "make oldconfig" is unnecessarily specific -- it should really just say, "you must configure your kernel source first." and second, "make prepare" should really say "make modules_prepare", should it not? anyone mind if i submit a patch? rday -- ======================================================================== Robert P.
