Hi All,

Does anycone know how I can get new versions of microsoft project to save a
file in mpx format.

I have an existing application that reads mpx files and wondered if there
was a way I could convert mpp to mpx.

2003 doesn't save as .mpx any longer. Basically the mpx format has never
been updated to handle things like different amounts of work per day or week
and much more. As such saving as .mpx format would lose a fair bit of data
and accuracy.

The replacement for .mpx format is the new .xml format which is also a text
format. It saves all project data with no loss of information.

If you still need to save as .mpx then keep an older version of Project
installed such as 2000 just for this purpose, or write a VBA macro to create
a .mpx file in 2003.
