I tried logging on to msn on my del x5 and got a message saying:- logon to
msn messenger failed because the service is not compatible with this version
of the program.

does any one know how to remedy this

Carl,

If you go to http://www.pocketpc.com and download the MSN Messenger Update
(be sure to get the correct version for your device), install it and you
should be good-to-go.
