From: Raoul on 19 Oct 2005 17:46 Hello, I want to buy a contract SIM from o2 Online and take my number. I have a PAC that expires in around a fortnight's time. Nobody will be able to be in the house when it is delivered. On the standard service, does the delivery require a signature, or will it simply be posted? I note that o2 Online will not deliver to work. Unless you know different? Thanks, Raoul

My experience of getting sims (got plenty of htem, including contracts in the past) is they're sent first class royal mail. You activate the sim over the phone, so the postie should pop it through your letterbox!

When I ordered a Genie SIM years ago, it arrived by courier. This is what got me wondering if they'd changed policy. > You activate the sim over the phone, so the postie should pop it through > your letterbox! Splendid -- thanks for the information.

Sure, anytime. It's a possibility they perhaps used to activate it *before* they sent you it, thus using a courier is mandatory to stop anybody nicking it and usig it! But now it's not like that at all... I've had contract and pay as you go sims sent, all by royal mail, but it's worth asking.

DHL now, and they wouldn't send it to my place of work. > I've had contract and pay as you go sims sent, all by royal mail, but it's > worth asking. I did. They would only send by DHL. So I've gone for Vodafone instead. My experiences of Vodafone are, so far, very positive. Very helpful people on the end of the line, efficient, and based in Britain. I had a single point of contact who rang me back when she said; something Orange have never offered me, not have ever done (despite promising). And, on a patriotic note, I'm pleased that my money will be going into UK Plc rather than the back pockets of the France Telecom.
