From: "Werner "Menneisyys" Ruotsalainen [MVP - Windows - Mobile Devices]" on 5 May 2008 03:35 You mean compilers available for running on Windows Mobile? There are a lot more; see for example http://www.mobilitysite.com/boards/business-development/92214-programming-pocket-pc-entirely-ppc-not-desktop-based-solutions.html#post772986 Also see my Java hacks if interested: http://forums.thoughtsmedia.com/showthread.php?t=72696 -- -- Werner "Menneisyys" Ruotsalainen - Microsoft MVP - Windows - Mobile Devices Please see the Pocket PC Mag Expert Blog (including mine) at http://www.pocketpcmag.com/blogs/ - you will definitely like it. From: Jacko on 5 May 2008 09:12 Yes, there are more, but I have not tried them. I have applied via www.amiga.com for a development licence, as they are getting into cross platform middleware. I hope to develop my own IDE, as the $400 registration for SDK has been waved if I allow amiga to distribute my product. Looks good what can be done, try the amiga invaders demo download from microsoft. I am a fan of the old A1200 anyhow. Just wonder if low level data access (eg PIM etc) is possible. Will check back when have a look. And give a general features not covered critique. The IDE language will be like MIDP java, but will not compile to bytecode, but to fast execution vectors, and preverification will not be included. Maybe some android emulation classes. and direct execution via a filetype association. (i do need to know how to register one of these). Individual icons would be great, (does this have to be done with .lnk files?). just got the docs off the desktop version of J so thats good (wonder what windows support GUI is there?), and the eTcl with wish is a good throw together language. I use the spacetime 3.0 as a scientific calculator, even though the HP15C is free. had a look at the virtual oscilloscope spectrum analyser shareware, and it looks good for audio and multimeter work, it just needs a prescale and overload limiter gizmo making. I wonder what the sample and hold interval is as this theoretically limits maximum bandwidth of the oscilloscope on repetitive waveforms. I really don't fancy basic anymore, no matter how fast compiled it is. and the C# ide does not work at vga resolution, and relies on me getting .NET CF documentation. gcc is available but i do intend on some graphics, without all the .CF business. My MID4th is just an alpha demo at present so it will not be my major work, but some of its ideas will be used, as the tao intent MIDlet Runner is good but has some real pants 'features'. I am not interested in a command line tool either. I am redesigning my website to not use tables at present, i intend to used 'bigendian lists' as these display fine on the pocket pc. i may even make a batch converter for html files. I do think some of the redering from some sites is so bad. and I have noticed that my pocket pc does not download .jar files through explorer and needs the .jad file. I hope that clears up things from my prespective. cheers jacko. http://indi.hpsdr.com
