From: Smudge on 12 Mar 2005 15:52 Hi, My pen drive is suddenly given up the ghost. The light comes on but the computer does not recognize it. Can anybody give me any ideas as to how I can recover my data on this drive? I use windows xp and there are no reasons that I can think of as to why the drive has failed. Smudge
From: Jerry G. on 12 Mar 2005 20:32 If you mean a USB jump drive, or one of these USB memory sticks, it is possible to have static electricity corrupt or damage them. Water can also cause damage to them. If the data is corrupted, the only thing you can do is to try to re-format it. If it still does not work, then it is scrapped. I have had the same thing with flash-cards. -- Greetings, Romeo E.
