Hi, I would start by looking at the Simscape documentation on "Basic Principles of Modeling Physical Networks". Either type web([docroot '/toolbox/physmod/simscape/ug/bq89sba-1.html']) at the MATLAB command prompt or visit http://www.mathworks.com/access/helpdesk/help/toolbox/physmod/simscape/ug/bq89sba-1.html Hope this helps, Arnaud
