I'm using simelectronics and some of the physical modeling
blocksets for the first time. Can anybody please guide me
what does it mean by conserving port and how it can be
used.

Hi, I would start by looking at the Simscape documentation on "Basic
Principles of Modeling Physical Networks". Either type web([docroot
'/toolbox/physmod/simscape/ug/bq89sba-1.html']) at the MATLAB command prompt
or visit
http://www.mathworks.com/access/helpdesk/help/toolbox/physmod/simscape/ug/bq89sba-1.html
