Hi Mike,

just bought a HD24, it had had only 5 rentals in a year and was on qxl with
a buy it now of the equivalent of USD 1000. Nice sound, not overbrigth, but
clean and with a good perspective. From the sound I think I know what opamps
are in it (TL0something) - just a guess because it sounds like my subwoofer
x-over did rior to getting audio opamps. In some other context I'd want to
solder, but I think it is too closely packed for it to be advisable to so
do, upgrading to XR comes to mind as an alternative when/if affordable. I'm
contemplating a Soundcraft EPM12 as front end and possibly to get a custom
rack case for both.

Kind regards

Peter Larsen

Jim Williams would know. He modifies them. But you're right, you
probably wouldn't want to change out the chips without the proper
desoldering and soldering tools.
