There have been internal memory expansions of the Plus/4 up to
256K.

I think Peter had two or three expanded Plus/4s. The person that
received his collection did come through with a 1551 for me, but I'm
still waiting on a proper power cord. The sender thought that I would
adapt this 1551 for US power rather than run a step-up transformer.
