I'm having a weird problem with Fireworks, and I'm wondering if anyone else out
there has experienced this. Sometimes, for no apparent reason, when I'm typing,
the text will suddenly divide and jump down to the next line, usually in the
middle of a word, sometimes letter to letter. For instance, "Adventure" will
look like
Adv
enture. It has nothing to do with the width of the text box, b/c adjusting it
has no effect. The text isn't even in a text box, as far as a paragraph with
regulated width. It's just regular old, "click-the-text-tool-and-start-typing"
text. Changing the font will make it go back to normal, but that doesn't help
if I'm needing a particular font! This has been going on for a long time, and
the problem manifested on more than one computer, so it's not even an issue of
reinstalling the program. Any suggestions?

I think it has to do with your justification on the Properties
toolbar. Make sure you are aligning left.

I do not believe it is a problem with alignment because I have this problem all
the time and my text is left justified. Some times it seems like the text is
jumping down a line on certain letters and other times it seems to just jump
for no reason. My co-works and I all seem to have this problem and we are
not sure why.

I know that if you save your project and close out of Fireworks and then
reopen. Once I click on the (still messed up looking) text with my text edit
cursor the text usually goes back to normal. Sometimes I have to close and
reopen several times before this works.

Hopefully that will get you buy for now when you need a specific font.
Hopefully they will fix this bug.
