From: Brian_A on 18 Jun 2008 20:10 Hi capstone,This sounds similar to a product demonstration National Instruments did, tracking cyclists live on Google Maps. Check it out! In this case a PDA was used (as Mike suggested) for acquiring data (including GPS), which was then sent to a remote server via a mobile broadband modem. The server then updated Google Maps. The modem used was not a National Instruments product. The only Wi-Fi product we currently provide is the NI WAP-37x1 industrial wireless access point, client, and bridge. It is basically an industrial version of a common 802.11b/g wireless router. This makes it useless for a communication range of an entire city, but could suffice to give a smaller scale demonstration.
