From: Ian R on 1 Feb 2006 06:34 Hi Just recently, each time I start my PC I get the message "one or more disks needs to be checked for consistency..." I have two HDD's in my system. When this first started it checked several partitions but in the past few days it only wants to check Drive "L". Each time no errors or bad sectors are found and my system runs fine. I've also checked the disc using XP's built in error checking tools and again no problems are reported. I always shut down my PC properly so I'm at a loss why I should keep getting this. Any ideas? Thanks. Ian

Have you used Ghost recently? I got this just after making a backup. Rebooted a few times and now it seems to have stopped. No disc errors reported and SMART data is all ok.

I'm not saying Ghost is the problem - just interested to rule it in/out as a candidate..
