There is much to learn to successfully deploy a server-side, truly
secure system.

There are other ways to protect pages though.

You could use your host's CPanel or ask tech support, to set up
individual authorization duples (userid/password pairs) for each of your
customers. But if there are more than just a very few, that can be
cumbersome.

Or, if you do not need bullet-proof protection you might also look at my
Password Protect 6 DW Extension:
