From: Robbie on 16 Apr 2008 12:00 Hey guys, as of yesterday something happened to my computer and now any website I go to that uses SSL is broken. I've tried with firefox and IE and it's the same problem. I mostly use firefox so I took screenshots of the errors in that since I'm not sure how to view the certs in IE. I've taken a few screenshots you can see in this gif. A new snap loads every 2 seconds. A quick note about the first image. My home page is yahoo.com but the cert error is *.google.com my only guess might be that I am using the google notebook plugin but regardless I shouldn't be getting these errors at all. As you'll notice all the certs I "examined" show that they are "not part of a certificate". So something is definitely messed up on my pc. I've reinstalled firefox and am current on windows update but no luck. I don't get this problem on any other computer. http://buggyonpurpose.com/random/cert-problems.gif I'd appreciate ANY help I can get because this is quite annoying. One site in particular wont load at all for me when it goes into ssl mode. It's as if the website doesn't exist but I know better of course (it's my own site!) Thanks
From: Robbie on 16 Apr 2008 12:59 I was just checking something on the other computers. When I view the certs they show that they are issued by Verisign, Equifax, Godaddy etc. But on my computer using IE. they say they are issued by the domain I'm visiting ie. issued to: website.com issued by: website.com And as you see in firefox it says the same thing and then also, not part of a certificate.
