From: Deepdweller on 16 Jun 2008 22:30 Hi all, I recently built a Solaris Sparc 10 6/06 server on a Sunfire 280R. The DBA's advised that I needed to include the following setting in / etc/system: set BIT_SIZE=64 Once this was done the oracle install worked fine. My problem is on a reboot I get the following message: sorry, variable 'BIT_SIZE' is not defined in the 'kernel' Strangely I have this setting in our Production servers and they are fine and have no errors on reboot. Any help would be appreciated.
