From: jen m on 14 May 2008 12:23 I am a rookie with this program so bear with me: I have been entering work hours into project in the task usage window. for some reason one of the tasks has the same start date as the entire project and if i try to change it then it changes all the work hours i have entered. I have made it an "as soon as possible" task and it is 100% done. some other tasks are doing the same thing but not all. also: I have taken a couple courses on ms projet but i still find it very confusing!!! is there any one on one help available in calgary?
From: JulieS on 21 May 2008 12:34 Hi Jen, When you are entering work into the Task Usage view, are you entering data into the Work field or the Actual Work field? The task that is scheduled for the start date of the project most likely has no predecessors and therefore sits at the start date of the project -- there is no other task driving the start of the task. If you want to change the start date of a task, enter Actual Work on the date you want to the task to start. That should move the Actual Start date. Sorry, I'm not close to Calgary, but I hope that has helped somewhat.
