Hi,

I posted the fact that vga=791 did not work with Debian's 2.6.25 kernel
on May 12th:

http://lists.debian.org/debian-user/2008/05/msg01095.html

Yesterday I tried installing linux-image-2.6.25-2-686 (2.6.25-6) and the
problem persists. There is a bug report:

http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=481063

This is for the i386 architecture with Sid. On May 12th I tried 2.6.25-3.

That leaves you with the option to recompile the kernel and install
uvesafd or install svgatextmode which does not need framebuffers.

Any comments?

Are the options "vga=771", "vga=773", "vga=775" working?

I haven't tried those but I will in a few minutes: have to reboot to
that kernel.

They all get "undefined videomode number".

But the latest stable version of the Linux kernel (2.6.25.9) works w/o a
problem, as did 2.6.25.3 on May 12th.

So this is definitely a Debian problem, AFAIK.
