anyway that i can get rid of the stuff so i can free up some rom? on the
sprint web site it says that the device comes with 128MB but when i got it

Steven,

More-than-likely Sprint has installed several applications within the ROM
that are taking up the space. Keep in mind that you will have some of that
ROM eaten up with the OS image itself plus any add on applications that
Sprint has installed as well.

In all likelyhood these are installed as part of the ROM image and can't be
deleted. If you go into the Remove Programs applet under Settings, if it is
listed there, you can remove it.

Hope this helps,

I'd question whether you're talking of RAM or ROM. The unit has 128MB of
ROM (I think), but only 64MB of RAM. Since I don't have one of those units,
I can't tell which one you're looking at, or how you can even tell which is
which.

Check out this forum thread for what I mean:
http://www.pocketpcmag.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=18325

The third posting in the thread says it comes with 64MB of RAM, but only 43
is available. The 128MB is ROM, which is where the OS and some other
applications sit. On my Dell X50v, I have the same setup, but the 128MB of
ROM isn't really read-only. Whatever's left over from the OS is available
to install applications (and even data), and is referred to as "Built-In
Storage". I'm not sure if these same terms are relevant in a Windows 5
environment, or if I'm just confusing the issue. From my brief foray into
WM5, it seemed that the Built In Storage was no longer available, but
installing applications into the Main Memory didn't eat up RAM, it went into
the ROM.

1) There's not a lot of "Sprint stuff" on it. Those things all come
with the OS.

2) It takes Mini SD cards, buy a 256/512/1gb one.

3) See the first paragraph on page 64 of your manual for the answer to
the question you asked.
