I have someone asking me about a bug in OE that affects thorconnwndclass and
I can't locate any useful info about it. It's a spyware/adware issue that
locks up OE . Can anyone enlighten me as to what that is?
Apparently some spyware remover got rid of it but I would like to know more
about it.

ThorConnWndClass is an entry point in a DLL (inetcomm.dll) shared by
Outlook
with Outlook Express. Googling this newsgroup shows many threads about
this
entry point. Some suggest reinstalling Outlook Express. Some suggest a
bad
message on the POP server can cause this, and several reported that
deleting
a bad message fixed the problem. Some suggest a change in the
underlying
TCP/IP stack (winsock.dll) can be the problem. Some suggest creating a
new
mail profile and re-adding your accounts to it may help. One suggests
uninstalling the Speech and Handwriting Recognition feature of Office.
A
few mention IMAP accounts. Brian Tillman
