I am having a problem capturing video with my aiw card. It is
relatively old (9600), but i have the latest drivers, and have
installed Huffyuv 2.1.1 codec.

I created an avi capture model in the TV player, using specs from
http://www.digitalfaq.com/dvdguides/capture/atiavi/atiavi.htm


I run the capture...but when I try to play the AVI file in a player,
the first few frames play, but then it freezes, but the audio
continues.

I can play captures using other codecs and setting, but they look like
cr(a)p.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Always record using ATI's default VCR format, then convert the file in the
Library program to AVI.
No other way has ever worked for me, but doing the above always gives
excellent results.

Thanks for the reply,

I should have mentioned that I am trying to convert old vhs video
tapes to digital. I'm not sure if that makes a difference in your
response.

No probelm. Still record to native vcr format, then convert in Library app.
Just make sure you are recording from the correct input.
Should give good results.

I record from external sat receiver this way with good results.
