From: Michael Harding on 22 Jan 2008 09:30 Display of a slideshow on TV, from laptop, only shows in B&W. Can anyone please advise how to get the display in colour? (The connection is via cable from the S-Video socket on Packard Bell laptop to a scart connector on TV).
From: gary_hendricks_mail on 22 Jan 2008 10:27 Hi Michael, 1) I remember I had this issue before when trying to play a DVD from my laptop on the TV. Sometimes you have to press a function key on the laptop to switch to 'TV mode'. Is there such a setting on the laptop? On the Thinkpad I think it is Fn F7. 2) The other thing to try is to it go into your TV settings. Is there, within your TV, some kind of setting that allows you to control or configure the display for S-Video? You may want to try that. Hope this helps. I have HAD the same problem.
From: gary_hendricks_mail on 22 Jan 2008 11:24 Hi Jerohm, I don't think it is a bad S-video connection. I remember I checked my cables and connectors many times and could not figure it out. I'd put my bet on a Function key or TV setting. Best Regards, Gary Hendricks http://www.best-laptop-guide.com
