If it is of any help to you - I know where you're coming from, for I am not very adept at working with makefiles and the likes, and I have recently installed wxWidgets for use with Eclipse IDE (then with Cygwin), it took me literally ages to get everything right: I am currently compiling a detailed guide on how to install MSYS/MinGW + Eclipse CDT + wxWidgets + wxFormBuilder on a Windows XP (SP2) system. I am nearly finished, if you can wait another two days or so (maybe I'll finish this afternoon, even), I can post the guide for you, but I still have to work in all the credits for things that I have learned from other guides. Otherwise I can provide you with the guide as-is. The clue in this case is, it really gives you a complete guide, step by step, in the right order, so if you start with a system that is identical to mine in the relevant configuration settings, you will end up with a working IDE. And if you do not want Eclipse, you can just skip those steps. If you want to contact me directly, mail to larsDOTuffmannATdlrDOTde Best Regards, Lars |
