From: Neil Hershey <Neil on 15 Jun 2005 15:46 I currently have office xp for students and teachers on my computer. I have purchased an upgrade to office 2003 pro. When I get to the validation screen it tells me this: -cannot locate a valid office on your system - please put in your cd-rom of office I do and it tells me that it can be found and I can't upgrade. Thanks in advance, Neil
From: Susan Ramlet on 15 Jun 2005 15:57 Hi, Neil, I don't believe that Students and Teachers editions can be upgraded. Check the Office 2003 box to see what it considers eligible for upgrade. -- Susan Ramlet MVP - Office Please reply to the newsgroups where others may benefit. From: George Nicholson on 15 Jun 2005 16:10 One reason Students/Teachers edition is so inexpensive is that it doesn't qualify you for upgrades. A list of qualifying products s/b on the box. also: http://www.microsoft.com/office/editions/howtobuy/professional.mspx#EEAA The fact that the Students/Teachers edition is not listed in either place is *not* a mistake or an oversight. http://www.microsoft.com/office/editions/prodinfo/students/faq.mspx Student & Teacher Edition FAQ HTH, -- George Nicholson Remove 'Junk' from return address.
