i need a way to insert flash 8.0 in director mx 2004.

what can i do ?

The only thing you may be able to do is to publish the swf to Flash player
7, which Director supports. Director does not yet support player 8 - though
it's been publically stated that they are working on an update to the Flash
Xtra that will change that.

You could host it as an ActiveX control, but this limits you to Windows
only and is nowhere near as "seamless" as a Flash member
