From: "Project newbie" <Project on 24 Jan 2006 22:35 I've created my plan, now I need to show my results in a vertical bar graph. The vertical bar graph needs to show each sections work availablity and burden for each month. I read that there is no way to do stacked graphs in project, but is there any way to export my data into excel or any other program that will do vertical bar graphs?
From: JackD on 25 Jan 2006 00:14 I think if you use the "export timescaled data to excel" add-in you should be able to get the data you need in excel. It will take some clean up once it is there. Of course, it may not give you everything you need but try it and then post back for more help. -- -Jack ... From: Project newbie on 25 Jan 2006 21:01 Thank you, I will try it and I will let you know if it works. I actually have another Question to ask. I entered all my tasks and hours that will be needed to complete my task(AKA-Subtasks). The problem is that my main task hours are way off. For ex. I have 6 subtasks under my main task and the hours for the subtasks should all equal 350 but, my main task shows 750 or higher. When I was entering my data, my main tasks and subtasks were matching up and then I was messing with views and reports trying to figure out my vertical bar graphs and that's when I noticed my totals was off. Do you have any idea what I did to cause this problem and I how do I fix my totals, since all my fields for the main task are grayed out to correct this problem. Hope this makes sense. Thank you in advance. "Mike Glen" wrote: > Hi Project newbie, > > Welcome to the Microsoft Project newsgroup :-) > > Please see FAQ Item: 38. From: Project newbie on 25 Jan 2006 22:15 Great, Your suggestion worked. Thank you. My supervisor will appreciate it. I'm going to have tons of questions about this project. I hope you can help me out with them. 1 being; To show available hours vs. work burden in Excel, I need set up all my subtasks with a regular work week such as 40 hours or is that by default? 2 being; In Excell I would like to have up to 3 colors to represent available hours, very important work, and regular work in one graph. This may not make sense, but lets try these for a starting qestions. Thank you again!
