'Outlook' is most famous as a security hole masquerading as a useful
application. In that context, one must also consider the back-end which
is MS Exchange. So for that there is already a drop-in replacement:

However, if you mean e-mail, then it should be mentioned that
Mozilla Thunderbird is fully 'compatible' with OpenOffice.org.

And will be discussed for the next XX months/years until there is a tie
in to Thunderbird or another application.

I cringe everytime someone askes for an Outlook like client. I find
that the interface is terrible.
